The Bilingual Human Resources Generalist (HRG) acts as a strategic business partner and works with senior leadership to support their designated core clients which includes: district management, store management and retail store employees. The Bilingual HRG will join an HR team focused on making a positive impact on the business and our people through creating and developing process improvements, project implementation, and offering creative talent solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales managers to develop and maintain positive employee relations, and an engaged workforce and to implement new and innovative HR solutions
  • Provide human resource advice and consultation to retail employees and management on all HR-related matters
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal laws and regulations relating to employment standards, human rights, privacy legislation, and employment equity
  • Drive diversity, wellness, people analytics, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Deliver HR training and sharing of best practices
  • Work closely with the Director, Human Resources on research, development, and management of the performance review process
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Act as a lead in the continuous development, delivery, and success of the focused training, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Perform other related duties

Your Playground

  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Three to five years of generalist experience in human resources management
  • Minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or related program of study – a Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Specialized training in employment law, organizational development, employee relations, safety, training, leadership, and proactive employment relations is considered an asset
  • Certification in HR preferred
  • Knowledge of provincial employment laws and practices on a national level
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
  • High level of confidentiality and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills
